Scott Sulma featured by Chronicle wine writer Dale Robertson
If you’ve ever visited Vallone’s (or any of the Vallone Family of restaurants), you probably already know him: Scott Sulma, partner and general manager at Vallone’s (as well as Tony’s and Ciao Bello).
He’s one of the most beloved and respected restaurant professionals in the city. But he’s also a “wine guy.”
A lot of people don’t realize that when he’s not accompanying a guest to a table or checking with diners to make sure that everything is to their liking, he’s busy sourcing and curating the Vallone’s wine list, which features boutique wineries from California and “50 wines under $50.”
Houston Chronicle wine writer Dale Robertson has turned to Scott on numerous occasions for his popular column “Sommelier’s Pick.”
And he has again this week.
We can’t share the entire article here because it’s behind the paper’s paywall.
But we can share the wine: Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir The Calling from California’s Russian River Valley.
